From the 30-31 August 2023, Olea South Africa and our Namibian partner, Amanda Miller Insurance Brokers (AMIB), participated in the 10th Namibian Mining Indaba hosted by the Chamber of Mines.
The Expo was opened by His Excellency, President Hage Geingob and included the Mining Conference, Supplier’s Platform and Business 2 Business networking for exhibitors. There were 15 speakers and an exhibition of mining companies and industry suppliers.
The 2-day Expo enjoyed over 5,000 visitors from the local mining industry and suppliers from the African continent, as well as international delegates.
It is the first exhibition since 31July 2023, when the Apio Group formally rebranded to Olea South Africa. Olea South Africa was well received, with visitors being particularly impressed by our unique ability to provide Pan-African insurance solutions for mining risks across the continent. Particularly the in-territory expertise, especially relevant for mining companies which have operations outside South Africa and Namibia on the African Continent.
Olea South Africa offers a blend of South African and Namibian expertise and market capacity, with locally based servicing capability for both local and cross border operations. Together with our insurance partner, AMIB, we are well placed to support local and international clients looking for business partners in Namibia and across the African Continent. This includes South African companies seeking to extend their client base and business partners.
This is an excellent opportunity for Olea SA to develop the business opportunities generated during the exhibition. One example being an Australian company with mining projects in Namibia and Côte d’Ivoire, which needs insurance broking services in both countries.
